Procedural timber preview for native Rhino geometry in Grasshopper. Preview meshes, Breps, surfaces and extrusions as CLT, three-layer panels, glulam, Kerto-Q, KVH, solid timber, plywood or parallel LVL. Includes combined material settings with product and appearance dropdowns, fibre-aligned bounds, bent surface grain, guide-curve bending, explicit source units and adjustable appearance settings. Includes a unit-aware gallery covering all eight products and eleven geometry types. Define custom layer stacks with schedules and section diagrams. Move capped cutting planes through fixed stock to reveal its original grain and knots. One grouped, Scribble-labelled example includes basic cutting, a stepped knot cutaway, custom buildup and the product library. Bake native geometry with persistent timber textures through Timber Preview. Baked objects are independent snapshots; save textures in the 3dm for portability. Requires Rhino 8.20 or later running .NET 8 on Windows or Mac. Mac native verification is pending. Visual presets do not specify manufactured or structural products. How to install woodie

  1. On the computer running Rhino, run _PackageManager and search for woodie.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install woodie
    macOS (Terminal)
    "/Applications/Rhino 8.app/Contents/Resources/bin/yak" install woodie
  3. Or download a .yak file and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
