Spider is a plugin for Grasshopper written in C#. The plugin is focused on the structural form-finding method that simulates the hanging chains.Perhaps the most famous example of this method is Antonio Gaudi's hanging chain model of the Sagrada Familia.This plugin provides not only methods to construct different types of anchors, loads and chains, but additional components to extract and analyze data and generate 3D forms.

How to install SpiderGH

  1. Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with SpiderGH selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for SpiderGH.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install SpiderGH
    macOS (Terminal)
    "/Applications/Rhino 8.app/Contents/Resources/bin/yak" install SpiderGH
  3. Or download the .yak file above and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
