A plug-in that lets Rhinoceros open IFC files. This read-only plug-in converts the geometry held in an IFC file into plain Rhino objects, staying as close to the original shapes as possible. Basic per-object metadata is carried over as attribute user text, but the BIM data structure itself is not fully preserved - the plug-in simply brings the geometry in so that you can review it. Developed on Rhino 8; supports IFC2X3 and IFC4.

How to install RhinoIfcPlainLoader

Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with RhinoIfcPlainLoader selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for RhinoIfcPlainLoader.
Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
