The PlaningHull module is the entry-level hull fairing module for V-hull high-speed vessels form 5 to 25 m. It allows users to use control points in the Rhino window to generate fair, chined hulls. These are solid (closed Brep) geometries that can be saved and used to calculate further.

How to install PlaningHull

  1. Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with PlaningHull selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for PlaningHull.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install PlaningHull
    macOS (Terminal)
    "/Applications/Rhino 8.app/Contents/Resources/bin/yak" install PlaningHull
  3. Or download the .yak file above and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
