Nuclei is a generative-design plugin for Grasshopper that combines behavior-based particle simulations with highly customizable voxel environments. Inspired by slime-mold transport networks and ant foraging systems, it allows particles to respond to spatial fields, producing branching networks, evolving patterns, and volumetric structures. Nuclei 3 supports Rhino 8 and 9. Only in Rhino 9, its components display an "old v3" banner. For migration, uninstall the old shared Nuclei package, then install Nuclei2 and Nuclei3 separately to use both together.

How to install Nuclei3

  1. Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with Nuclei3 selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for Nuclei3.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install Nuclei3
    macOS (Terminal)
    "/Applications/Rhino 8.app/Contents/Resources/bin/yak" install Nuclei3
  3. Or download the .yak file above and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
