NextFEM plugin for Grasshopper connect NextFEM Designer finite element program to Grasshopper, allowing to export Rhino models to NextFEM Designer and to obtain data from finite element model. As prerequisite to work, NextFEM Designer must be installed on the system. NextFEM Designer is free and can be downloaded at nextfem.it.

How to install NextFEM-Link

  1. Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with NextFEM-Link selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for NextFEM-Link.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install NextFEM-Link
  3. Or download the .yak file above and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
