Miller Moth is a collection of tools that address CNC milling workflows. Generating roughing and finishing toolpaths for common milling strategies based on models and endmills, simulation of material removal and rest machining, as well as basic toolpath collision detection and toolpath adjustment. Miller Moth is an experiment in extending Grasshopper into the gap between dedicated CAM software. Please note that as of Version 1.0.6 some input options that are infrequently needed have been taken out as inputs visible on the canvas and instead added as submenu items when right-clicking on the component. Version 1.0.6.4 begins integrating endmill data into the g-code stream as well as tool library functions - toolpath and other components do not yet automatically use tool data from the stream.

How to install Miller_Moth

  1. Click Install in Rhino to open Rhino's Package Manager with Miller_Moth selected, or run _PackageManager inside Rhino and search for Miller_Moth.
  2. Or install it from a terminal (assumes a default Rhino 8 installation):
    Windows (PowerShell)
    & "C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\System\Yak.exe" install Miller_Moth
    macOS (Terminal)
    "/Applications/Rhino 8.app/Contents/Resources/bin/yak" install Miller_Moth
  3. Or download the .yak file above and drag it onto an open Rhino window.

Restart Rhino once the install finishes.
